WHAT IS KAOLIN?
Kaolin contains mainly the mineral kaolinite, a hydrous aluminosilicate, with a low “shrink-swell” capacity. Kaolin is non-flammable and non-toxic, besides having a low cation-exchange capacity. According to some research, kaolin does not cause an impact to animals, human beings, health or to the environment. Due to these characteristics, kaolin performed well in several tests that had a positive impact on scientific advances in animal nutrition without environmental damage impacts. Kaolin is also indicated by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply – MAPA, a renowned Brazilian government institute on several tests, with animal feed industries for instance. This mineral can be used to improve products without major bureaucratic obstacles.
